The State Department operates a secure online travel registration website which allows American citizens to record foreign travel and residence information. This web-based travel registration system has replaced AIT's paper and email registration systems.

American citizens visiting or living in Taiwan are encouraged to register with the Department of State's online registration system. Registration enables AIT to contact you in the event of a family or personal emergency, and would help AIT locate and assist American citizens during any large-scale emergency in Taiwan.

U.S. Citizens around the world can access this site directly at https://travelregistration.state.gov/. If you are already registered with AIT, please update your registration online to ensure AIT has your current information.

The travel registration service allows you to register and update your contact information online at any time, making it easier for you to keep your information current. The site also provides up-to-date travel information customized to your travel itinerary. The data you provide is secured behind Department of State firewalls, accessed only by cleared State Department personnel, and is protected by the Privacy Act. Information on the Privacy Act is available on the registration web page.
